Beyond the Horizon - Bringing the information world together

CILIP North East Virtual Conference --- Monday 17th May 2021 1.00-4:30pm

CALL FOR PAPERS
The conference will seek to inspire our audience, share knowledge, raise debate and provide networking opportunities. It will cover a broad range of issues from across the library, information and knowledge professions. The conference will take place online via Zoom and be open to members of the profession and all who are interested in our profession. The conference will be free for CILIP members. There will be a charge of £35 for non-members.

1. Aims
To bring together library, information, and knowledge professionals across the North East together.
To showcase and to encourage professionals from the broad library and information sector.
To inspire innovative practice.

2. Sessions
There will be two types of session for the conference:

2.1 Short papers
There will be five slots available for 20 minute talks, inclusive of Q&A opportunity.
Ideally, we are looking for ‘work in progress’, so details of projects which are going on now.
We thought a lot of conferences highlight historical and completed projects. We want to hear about things going on now; so don’t worry if they aren’t finished yet.

2.2 Lightning talks (max 20 slides, no Q&A)
There will be six slots available for five minute talks, so we are looking for short and snappy! If you’d like to present and haven’t done so before, or just want to introduce something briefly, then this is perfect for you.
