Beyond the Horizon - Wellbeing in an uncertain world
CILIP North East Virtual Conference

Come and tell us how you and your institutions are coping.
This annual event aims to showcase work and issues from across the library, information and knowledge professions. We hope it will inspire attendees with new ideas, share knowledge and good practice or just things you’re experimenting and developing.
This year, as we face a variety of challenges, we want to showcase projects/initiatives or stories of how you and your institutions are trying to put wellbeing front and centre - be it personal, or for the community you serve. However please note that papers and talks on all topics will be considered - we very much want to hear about anything you feel would be enlightening or interesting for participants. In addition, we welcome thoughts and papers from across the spectrum of libraries
You may be involved with a new project, a different way of doing something or feel you’re already doing something great and think others would benefit from knowing about it. This is your opportunity to share something you’re excited about with other professionals. You could talk about something completed, as well as work in progress.
We would particularly encourage those who are looking to present for the first time, and those who belong to under-represented groups and communities, including but not limited to BAME, LGBTQIA+, those with disabilities, and those who are neurodivergent.
The conference will take place online via Zoom.
It is free to CILIP members and £35 for non-members.
Sessions
There will be two types of session for the conference:
a) Short papers
There will be 5 slots available for 20 minute talks, inclusive of Q&A opportunity.
b) Lightning talks
There will be 6 slots available for 5 minute talks, so we are looking for short and snappy! If you’d like to present and haven’t done so before, or just want to introduce something briefly, then this is perfect for you.

Deadlines
Friday 31st March 5pm: Deadline for all talk submissions
Friday 14th April: Notification of acceptance: Successful proposers will be informed by email
